<image:caption>Sisterhood, the root of the Sister Sister Project, allows women who are in the process of starting their career or making the transition to a new career a chance to flourish and discover their true potential. This project believes that mentorship plays a key role in encouraging women towards opportunities for their future career and the formation of lifelong relationships. Through the networking of influential members in the community with mentees, our podcast, fundraisers, galas, discussion panels and much more, this project seeks to rebuild sisterhood in our community.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Kisha Ishomy Pembe</image:title>
<image:caption>My name is Kisha Ishomy Pembe. I was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and I arrived in Canada in 2006. I majored in Social sciences and Political Science at the University of Ottawa. As an advisor for EducNation Consulting Inc., I have had the privilege of participating in many events and interacting with fascinating people in the education community. It is because I believe in the education of young people as a source of fulfillment and in the sharing of knowledge that I accepted to be a teacher, a personal and executive Coach for immigrants and young people. My passions are immigration, music, and youth education. My conferences give me the opportunity to satisfy them. It has been two years since I entered the business world. Another passion that I discovered in search of my full potential. Today, I set up a distribution company that promotes the development of product brands by Afro-entrepreneurs. I decided to join the Sister Sister Project to share my experience and learn from the youth. To make them aware of the issues related to immigration and the importance of this in daily lives. To use this platform for discussions and to reflect on two issues linked to the social and political context: the integration of immigrants and the processing of asylum applications. Immigration is of course an ongoing historical theme, but it also touches the daily life of every newcomer. I look forward to meeting you and working with you.</image:caption>

      <image:title>L.A Wade</image:title>
<image:caption>L.A. Wade has been perfecting her ability to help others find their voice, speak their truth, and both tell and retell their story in unique and creative ways. As the first Black woman to hold the position of Registrar at the University of Toronto for the past 13 years, she has sojourned new and unique ways of connecting those who are disenfranchised to novel opportunities internationally, specifically within experiential learning, the arts, sports and entertainment industries. L.A. is also the first Black woman to host a show around sexual and relational wellness on cable tv in Canada through the Feva TV network, and now more recently, is one of 6 Black women on the reality tv show, Naija Wives of Toronto. The accumulation of her experiences has positioned her as an important voice in the film, television, podcast lifestyle and personal development industry. Her work seeks to destigmatize, educate, empower, and make people laugh while assisting in healing through inspiration. She is a sexual abuse and rape survivor, who also speaks out for mental health and for those of us with learning disabilities. She is a community builder that looks for ways to collaborate on projects, ideas and brand affiliations. L.A.'s various projects are known to both push boundaries, unleash creative energy and capabilities, expand mindsets, and facilitate authentic and transparent conversations. She is the winner of various accolades and awards including the Scotia Bank African Canadian Achievement Award, The University of Toronto’s National Book and President’s Award, and the Mark Reisman Literature Award, L.A. continues to draw on her wealth of experience to tell stories, uncover truths and change narratives.</image:caption>

<image:title>Marie Kiluu-Ngila - Marie is a corporate lawyer and is also an ardent advocate for diversity in the legal sphere. While a law student at University of Toronto, she co-founded Black Future Lawyers, a program aimed at supporting Black prospective law students and guiding them to achieve their goals.</image:title>
<image:caption>As experience has taught her, Marie is constantly searching for opportunities to give back to her community through mentorship and advising. She has mentored a handful of students, many of whom have become more like sisters to her. As she embarks on her journey through the legal sphere and “figuring out life” as a young professional in a cosmopolitan city, Marie continues to cultivate her passion to have a positive impact on those around her. She is always enthusiastic about meeting new people and taking part in their growth and development, no matter which stage of life they are in. Marie is more than pleased to be a mentor for the Sister Sister Project, and is excited to nurture these new relationships.</image:caption>
